By TONI WALTHALL News-Times Staff Five people were arrested Thursday afternoon during a drug bust on Ripley Road in El Dorado.
After conducting three months of undercover surveillance on Christopher David Jolley, 37, Union County Sheriff’s deputies and Arkansas State Police executed a search warrant on his residence at 506 N. Ripley Road.
Jolley was arrested at his home and charged with six counts of delivery of a con trolled substance, methamphetamine, each a Class Y felony; possession of a con trolled substance (marijuana) with intent to deliver, a Class C felony; possession of a firearm by a certain person; possession of drug paraphernalia, each a Class C felony; maintaining a drug premises and possession of prescription drugs without a prescription, both Class D felonies. Union County investigators believe that Jolley has been responsible for the distribution of a large amount of drugs in Union County over the past several months, according to Sheriff Ken Jones.
Jones said that other persons at the Ripley Road residence were arrested in connection with illegal drug activity.
Pamela M. Hall, 34, of 506 N. Ripley Road, El Dorado, was arrested Thursday at the residence, along with Donny W. Hicks, 50, of 702 S. Parkway, El Dorado; Angela K. Brown, 20, of 301 Ables Drive, El Dorado; Michael V. Giles, 39, of 153 Union 746, El Dorado. Hall is charged with felony possession of marijuana with intent to deliver. Hicks was arrested for possessing prescription drugs without a prescription. Brown was not charged with a drug offense, but was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear out of Ouachita County. Giles was also at the residence, but was arrested on a separate child support-related offense.
Giles was not scheduled Friday for a first appearance in District Court, where Judge George Van Hook set bond at $250,000 for Jolley; $10,000 for Hall and $5,000 for Hicks. Brown was extradited to Ouachita County.
