Drug raid nets arrests
By KELI JACOBI News-Times Staff Deputies with the Union County Sheriff ’s Office arrested three area residents late Wednesday following a drug raid on two El Dorado homes which yielded large amounts of crystal methamphetamine and illegal firearms.
Arrested were Anthony C. Jackson, 21; Mary Ann Crockett, 53; and Stacy E. Dunn, 21, all of El Dorado. The defendants are being held without bond in Union County Jail and are scheduled for a first appearance in Union County District Court today.
Each faces numerous drug charges including delivery of a controlled substance (crystal meth), possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver (crystal meth), possession of a con trolled substance with intent to deliver (crack cocaine), maintaining a drug premises, possession of drug parapher nalia and simultaneous pos session of drugs and firearms. Jackson faces additional charges of fleeing, aggravated assault and failure to stop or yield after leading deputies on a brief high speed chase, damaging his vehicle and a county vehicle in the process. The suspect exited his car and attempted to flee on foot, but was quickly captured, said Union County Sheriff Ken Jones. No one involved in the chase was injured.
Both Crockett and Dunn were arrested inside a home on 514 E. Elm.
Officials executed the search warrants on 517 E. Elm St. and 514 E. Elm St. Wednesday following several undercover drug purchases and a month-long investiga tion of activity in the area, according to Jones.
